(Osaka University) A research team led by Osaka University developed a high-strength marine biodegradable plastic sheet by combining two ubiquitous biomass resources, starch and cellulose. Their discovery will contribute to a reduction in the amount of new marine debris accumulation and greenhouse gases, as well as to a more efficient and sustainable material cycling process.
